Faldo: Ernie Can Turn Tiger Over

New Open Champion
Ernie Els was wearing a high-tech stress-busting pendant when he won at
Muirfield, which had been given to him just three weeks earlier.
Els has joined a growing
band of more than 200 leading golfers, including world No1 Tiger Woods
and 2001 Open champion David Duval, in wearing the device round his neck.
The QLink
pendant professes to reduce stress and boost energy. Els was given
one to wear and has seen instant results, coming through the tense
four man play-off to win on Sunday.
Surprise package Gary
Evans, who shot a stunning 65 to come within a shot of the play-off, was
also wearing a QLink pendant, which contains 75ft of wound copper wire.
He held his nerve to sink a 50ft putt for a remarkable par on the 17th
after losing his ball.
"I have felt more
at peace with myself and much calmer in pressure situations, both on and
off the golf course," Evans said recently.
At Muirfield, 17 players
wore a QLink pendant and 13 made the halfway cut.
